How to transfer your medical records

Once you’ve chosen your Scripps physician, the next step is transferring your medical records. If you are still looking for a primary care doctor or specialist, our Doctor Finder is an easy way to start your search and schedule your first appointment.

With your authorization, there are several convenient ways to request that your records be sent directly to you or your doctor. We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure.

• Link your MyChart accounts. Watch this video to learn more.

• Upload your records into MyScripps if you have already signed up.

• Mail or email outside medical records from external organizations.

  • If you have questions or need further assistance, please call 858-927-7108

Prepare for your first doctor's appointment

Every minute of time spent with your doctor counts, so knowing how to prepare and what to bring will help you and your physician get the most out of your first visit. We recommend checking to see what your health insurance plan covers before your visit, such as copays and covered services.

Please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your appointment.
